What it Does
The F1109P from IP-Com is a 9-Port 100Mbps Unmanaged Switch with 8 PoE ports. It has 9 10/100Mbps auto-negotiated RJ45 ports. Ports 1~8 support IEEE802.3af/IEEE802.3at PoE power supply, and can automatically detect and identify the IEEE802.3af/IEEE802.3at-based powered devices, and can suppply PoE power for them via Ethernet cables. The uplink port is equipped with a lightning protection circuit, which is 4KV lightning-proof. One-key VLAN devision feature can help restraint broadcast storm and defense DHCP spoofing.

The main feature with the F1109P is that it has simple VLAN based port-to-port isolation activated by a simple switch on the front panel. So, for example, if you have an Access Point on each port the users connected to different APs wont be able to 'see' each other over the network. Ideal for public wifi applications. This feature could be implemented using a typical Smart Switch BUT a Smart Switch would be a lot more expensive if all you wanted to do was this one feature.

Users must ensure that their connected device keeps within the maximum PoE power permitted per LAN port of the switch or injector and also the total power for all connected devices is less than the maximum total PoE power that the switch or injector can provide. For example, if the PoE switch is maximum 30W per port (so it conforms to 802.11at) but the maximum PoE power for the switch is 60W and the access point you are connecting is 18W maximum then, even if the switch has 8 PoE LAN ports, you can still only power a maximum of three access points.
Damage caused to the switch or injector by over loading the power budget is NOT covered by warranty.
