Just plug the adapter into the power socket on the wall, and connect any Ethernet-equipped device to the adapter, put another adapter in the location you are trying to reach and bingo, it then simply converts the network signal to a signal that can be sent down your electrical wiring and then at the other end converts it back again.

Compatability: 85mbps homeplugs & 200mbps homeplugs are only compatible with there own speed i.e all the 200mbps below will work with each other and other Homeplug AV models by other manufacturers but not with the 85mbps above and vica-versa.
however they can co-exist on the same power circuit so you can have two networks talking over each other at different speeds.
