This unit is ideal
for people that are situated a long way from a WiFi access point or are
experiencing problems with signal strength. This unit is very popular with
boat & caravan users as it allows them to connect to hotspots whilst
constantly changing position, compared to ordinary USB dongles & inbuilt laptop WiFi that
only transmit distances of 10 – 100 metres.

Since all electronics and the antenna is integrated in one casing, all that
remains to be handled by the user is one unit to place
outdoors via the supplied 5 metre USB cable. The supplied antenna mount can be used to mount the antenna on an antenna pole
(TV antenna, for example) or wall mounted. The unit is fully compatible with other
IEEE802.11b/g standard WiFi-products. The distance between the Booster
and computer can be increased by the use of active USB extenders, available
here.
